WSL2 is almost maddening in how close it is to being a complete Linux environment. Really, the major missing piece is full systemd support and WSL2 would be seamlessly integrated into a Windows desktop. A discussion on SnapCraft forums turned into a script that adds systemd support to WSL2. Unlike systemd-genie, https://github.com/DamionGans/ubuntu-wsl2-systemd-script doesn’t have the concept of a genie bottle. From the user’s perspective, this is actually WSL2 with systemd support.
